Pro-thon-o-tar-y according to the records referred to a group of scribes in the Catholic Church who wore bright yellow hoods, hence the name of the Prothonotary Warbler just as this warbler of the swamps appears to wear.

Nature and photography have interested me since I was young. I was inspired after reading a book, by G. Ron Austing called " I Went to the Woods". His story of falconry, raptors and nature photography is still on my bookshelf today. Over the years I have photographed a diversity of subjects but avian photography is my passion. Living in Louisiana allows me to photograph a diverse population of birds as my subjects. My images have been published on several calendars, magazine and books, to include the Tennessee Conservationist, American Birding Association, Birding Guide to Louisiana, Louisiana Conservationist calendar and Bird Watchers Digest .
